so you still beleive anthropogenic global warming is real???
:dunno:

James Delingpole is set to shake the world of the credulous once more in an upcoming article where he repudiates gravity. Citing his own ability not to be influenced by the mass of scientific evidence and countering with anecdotal evidence of his own dreams of flying, Delingpole looked sweaty and maniacal in a recent interview. "Even physicists concede that gravity is an inexplicably weak force in the universe, but that's because it just isn't there. This is one of the greatest scientific con-tricks in history, dating back to the tale of Icarus". Delingpole is said to be "disappointed that not one so-called 'physicist' has the balls to enter into a serious debate" with him over his claims. He is taking some comfort from ally Lord Monckton, "You should have seen the look on his face after he read my notes" said Delingpole, "Scientists and engineers all have a vested interest in the multi-billion dollar aeronautics industry that they have created, and it's all about restricting free trade and the rights of the individual". Reactions from around the world range from "Incredible" and "Unbelievable", to "More sadly predictable idiocy", but Delingpole is undeterred and has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging anyone from the scientific community to join him in jumping off a very tall building, "then we'll see who's right".

The whole: 'redz infecting the Government, media, universities, etc' is straight out of the 'redz under the beds' playbook. Read up on the 'communist scare' and you see where the mindset of twats like this come from

Yeah. But that doesnt mean I agree with the likes of Al Gore on how to tackle it, and I certainly dont listen to fringe dickheads like your watermelon man who wanna deny it cos to them tackling it automatically means THE COMMUNIST TAKEOVER - this a guy who said that the BBC using BCE and CE was a Marxist plot to destroy civilisation.

The north-east is the coldest, most miserable place on earth (well, Gateshead's improved in recent years). Geordie boys and girls positively welcome global warming so they can continue to wear next to bugger all when out on the razz at weekends. :smilin:

anyway back to the OP wu
whats your opinion on the fact that
Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997

As I said earlier:

The Met Office qualified their findings with "reduction of solar activity to levels not seen in hundreds of years would be insufficient to offset the dominant influence of greenhouse gases." They also said in 2009, "The bottom line is that temperatures continue to rise and humans are responsible for it. We have every confidence in the science and the various datasets we use. The peer-review process is as robust as it could possibly be."

2009? lot can happen in 3 years
and the met office are official warmistas
well they were
i was reading this article which
i thought was good
and it concluded

“If we don’t see convincing evidence of global warming by 2015,” says Benny Peiser, director of the Global Warming Policy Foundation, “it will start to become clear that the models are bunk.” Heavy-breathing humans and flatulent cows will be off the hook, and a lot of scam artists will be pushed away from the public trough and on the street looking for work.

then theres what Professor Peter Huybers is saying

In a paper published in the journal Nature, Huybers points out that the way in which the Earth’s axis of rotation spins controls our climate. The process involves two cycles, one lasting about 10,000 years, the other roughly 40,000 years.

When the two cycles align ‘correctly’, the glaciers retreat rapidly, says Huybers. At the other extreme, glaciers advance.

Actually 1998 was the hottest year, what they said is that current temperatue is back to 1997 level. As Verum pointed out they said other aspects have negated the rising over the past decade but that doesnt mean global warming isnt still a threat. Here is the data
