All meat, a real treat.

I remember my great grandfather toasting pikelets in the house in front of a open fire with dying embers, I also remember him toasting spikelets on the outside of a bright red pot belied cast iron stove in his workshop/shed
He was very extravagant with the home churned butter.

I had ordinary bread toast.

What's a spikelet ?
Used to toast bread by the fire when we were wee, always loved my toast that way.

I miss OPAL FRUITS. Starburst don't seem the same without the lemon one.

Opal Fruits made to make your mouth water
Aw I never knew they removed the lemon ones. I've not had them for years... too sweet.

They like to change the names of their products - and on this occasion they came up with a funkier name, which is unusual. They usually settle for a duller name.

These confectionery firms often remove a colour or flavour at some stage. Same with M&M's.
You're right, they are too unhealthily sweet for grown ups tbf.

Fruitella are nicer, more fruity tasting and a yellow one too.

....... :wubwub: :grub: :grub:

All that's missing is a tomato cut in half ..... plus a good sprinkling of fresh parsley)
(a small crusty buttered cob wouldn't go amiss either - and i'd happily pay for all these xtras)

A pikelet is a thin type of crumpet, but thicker than a pancake.

A 7 rack of lamb with new baby potatoes, runner beans, mint sauce and gravy

We met our friend who is a restaurant owner going into a restaurant which he does not own, I took the wee wee out of him, had a laff and was invited to join him.
He explained if he eats his own food he gets interrupted by his own staff so he eats out most days.

He recommended the above so we had it, followed by sticky toffee pudding and ice cream, excellent meal.

We do not eat out much nowadays so it was a nice buckshee treat, PLEASE DO NOT TELL SB.

Mind you, for the last 4 years I have sharpened his kitchen knives and cleavers buckshee.

Ahhhh a picture that brings on memories and emotions, Jobbo.
Suddenly the air is filled with the sound of waves splashing and the aroma of Morecambe cockles in vinegar.

Some ripe avocado and a crusty cob (again) would be an excellent accompaniment to that lot.
For afters ---- a small dollop of carte dor, with a butterscotch drizzle, pretty please. :twirl:
