Got some carrot batons, ready to boil, just 5p instead of 60p today. Will just boil a little as I need them crunchy to dip in hummous and taramasalta.

Is poison worse if sold after sell by date ?????

They're not allowed to sell them after the date. It's ilegal.

I recall that certain US states that have the Death Penalty by lethal injection found the Poison was out of date , therefore they were not allowed to adminster the Death Penalty .

I remember that and they have to swab the arm beforehand to avoid risk of infection for the condemned man.
Can't be going to hell with an infection.

The swab contains a local anaesthetic, they are used on kids getting jabs too (obviously not for a lethal injection).

Got a packet of pork luncheon tongue and one of ox tongue for 10p each tonight in Sainsbury's. 4 slices in each, usually £2.50 a pack with today's date on.

Just had a couple of slices of the ox on a sandwich. Nice, haven't had tongue in ages.

Why are Croutons sold in a sealed airtight bag ?
Croutons are just stale bread .

And the airtight packaging is simply to keep it crunchy & crisp.

Stale bread is for bread+butter pudding, which I loathe.

..... using croissants... slice, butter and spread with marmalade of choice... put in oven dish, chuck in some choc chips, top with scoops of vanilla ice cream and bake! :razz:

Stale bread makes for a crunchier crouton, but once crisp you need to lock it in! :mrgreen:

A hot beverage is too wet without a digestive, the ad used to say.
Similarly a bowl of soup is too wet without croutons imo. :laughing:
