Been and seen him earlier, he is OK, feels lively he says.
He offud me 6 eggs which I declined, told me to go and look in the coop. six more in there, told me to take them, I did.
I told him I will be taking him a lamb chop casserole at 2 o'clock, he said he will have spuds ready.
He has Rangy out of the barn and washing it.

All the spuds at the end of the lane have gone, some people left coins in the bins.

But of course... always! It takes a pandemic for some people to have to do that.

I don't mean Major.

He has phoned and thanked us for his dinner, said enough for 3 days and did not do the spuds but ate a big mashed swede with it.

I do not like swede.

I was trap slapped.
I arose at 6.00am, went down, opened front door as usual to look around and the old boy was just walking away, he had left eggs in the porch.
As I spoke and thanked him as he turned around he was dressed up to the nines, suited and booted so to speak.
He told me would have been the birthday of his wife today, he always dresses for it and his own, he looked every bit a country gentleman, really smart.
I make country walking/shooting aid sticks and keep half a dozen in the porch fo visitors use when we them, I picked out the best one with a fallow deer antler and gave to to him, he got emotional, he just managed to utter " will you get me a couple of hands of bananas if you can"
Thanked me and went on his walk.

A few weeks back he was really down, seems quite perky now.

We went for our exercise earlier, as we drove back into our drive 2 squirrels fled from the porch.
Alighted, walked to door, 4 bananas on doorstep, no bag, yes you guessed it, squirrels had eaten parts of all 4 bananas, why could not the avaricious little bleeduz eat just ONE. :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl:

Why were they on your doorstep? Were they put there to ripen? Cut off where they've eaten them and they'll be fine. Waste not want not.
