We have this in place https://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visitin ... ark-status

I doubt many locals are in crowded places.

You have to rely on the common sense of the British people.

There's no lock down here and I think the police have given up and stayed home.?

biggest thing about lock down here was the closing down of the hotels BnB's caravan sites funfairs arcades .... the tourist trade.
Very difficult to get across the border either direction if you had English plates.
Almost impossible to get on and off Anglesey.
Travel along the A55 and the A5 very strictly policed.
Chancing it being 25 miles away from where your motor is registered but the attitude seems to have mostly been too much to do down on the farm to be staying in bed.
VE day was the nail in the coffin of lock down and then English bigwigs doing whatever the hell they like and patting each other on the back for doing whatever the hell they liked .... end of .... finished .... over.
The locals will be on the beaches this weekend before the English hoards are back.

Living here in the South Lakes/Cumbria, the last place I'd think of visiting would be Windermere etc, 20 odd minutes away.

Durdle Door Dorset today, crowds ignore distancing regulations for a bit of sunshine!!!

Despite Durdle Door being closed by Police today , people still went on the Beach .

People were also caught " Tombstoning" off the Arch into the water despite three people being seriously injured yesterday .
You couldnt make it up (shear stupidity ) .

4 x 4 buggy driving.

Went to Hill Farm for some terrifying driving stunts today, I had a John Deere working farm buggy which was a toy in comparison to the other 6 who turned up'.
I dropped my ear defenders and they were ran over and smashed in the mud, borrowed some more..
I just did speed drives without a bleeding speedo, on my last attempt at going mad I ended up in a ditch, the seat belts did their job, thankfully
The other machines were the real McCoy driven by aerosols, most had straight through silencers, the noise was deafening, enough to wake the dead.

Watching the experts was really entertaining.

My back is killing me after all those bumps.

Sloe gin and cheese on toast was good.

Never again, too old for it now.

Just thunk, how is your knitting going, SB??????????????????????????

Pardon? The thread asked what we'd done today in lockdown. I answered totally on topic.

Of course. For most of us, having a shower is unremarkable. I'll tell you if I don't have one. I haven't done much today as my hands are knackered, but I've finished all the fence posts, and 3/4 of the fence panels. I'm pretty pleased with it, a bit like Schofield and his flamingo in the radio ads.

Presumably somewhere with known deep water. As you're still here.

There are places, if you know the water. Being 51, I've kinda grown out of it, plus there's nowhere you could chance it here. Fort Albert is deep enough, but the tide runs though there at 6 knots on springs...
