Expectations for turnout at the Iowa caucuses had been high heading into the year, following record-shattering attendance in the last competitive GOP contest.
But just over 110,000 voters participated in the 2024 caucuses, falling well below the high expectations for turnout in 2024. Former President Donald Trump handily won the contest, trailed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.
There could be a number of reasons for the low turnout: A lack of enthusiasm among Republicans plus record-breaking weather seemed to stand in the way, keeping some voters home amid the unprecedented caucus cold, while others braved the frigid temperatures.

In 2016, Republicans set a new record for turnout at the caucuses, with almost 187,000 GOP voters. Though the total made up only about a third of all registered Republicans, turnout at the 2016 caucuses greatly outnumbered the 2012 contest, which had about 122,000 voters. And in 2008, the turnout was similar, with 120,000 voters, making the 2024 Iowa caucuses turnout the lowest in more than a decade.

Not sure what you are trying to portray with the percentage figures. The turnout seems consistent with earlier years if bad weather is taken out of the equation. You have some blinkers on if you still support Joe Biden the war criminal... And please do not come up with lesser evil argument. Fuck the system if 330 million are ruled under the thumb of war criminals like Biden and TrumpIn 2016, Republicans set a new record for turnout at the caucuses, with almost 187,000 GOP voters. In 2008 they picked Mick Huckabee, in 2012 in was Ron Paul and in 2016 it was Ted Cruz.
Predictions of a Trump landslide are a bit premature - and that's assuming SCOTUS allows his name to appear on the national ballot which is in doubt.

Trump violated the 14th Amendment and so is not permitted to stand.
It is self executing in the same way that if Benjamin Nethanyahu or Jacinda Arden wanted to run for US president they could not appear on the ballot - no matter how many people wanted them to.

Yeah but when the RW don't get their way because of the democratic process they storm Congress to 'restore democracy'. Nature in the form of COVID thinned them out a lot which means that they are less than the 12% (around the same percentage of knuckle draggers in the UK) of eligible voters, most old school repubs will just stay at home and not bother until a viable option is on the ballot. Trump salted the earth of the GOP and it will be unelectable to the rest until he dies or is in prison, which is when he will be declared a martyr and deified by the MAGA cult.

Nobody has 'made up' stuff about Trump.
He has committed crimes.
He has been found liable for sexual assault - equivalent to rape but as was stated by the judge in the trial because his victim did not know what body part was inserted into her vagina it cannot be described as rape under New York State law, which would require certainty that it was Trump's penis not a finger or thumb.
Trump has been given ample opportunity to present whatever exculpatory evidence he has, or any evidence he has of any nefariousJewishSoros led' plot to frame him, under the rules of evidence, under oath, in a court of law.
He has never done so.
He said he would testify in the E Jean Carroll case - he has never done so. The closest he got was when he asked the Judge in the current case if he could address the court and when he was told he could do so but only under oath he immediately went out and told his Death Cult he had been 'silenced'
There are reams of statistics on how Trump was destroying America both before and after the outbreak of covid but you won't listen to any of them.
But not one of these facts would ever get through to you.

He's resilient if nothing else. The amount of setbacks he has faced and he is still standing and coming back for more.
There's a lesson in that somewhere...
