The GOP have been on a downhill slide since the tea-party started with their nonsense of 'primarying' anyone who isn't completely crazy whenever they get a chance.

Actual government is about negotiation, compromise and pragmatism - and then the ability to sell what little you're able to gain as a massive victory. The tea party got rid of pragmatists and replaced them with ideologues, then when those ideologues couldn't deliver the MAGA movement came along and replaced the ideologues with demagogues each time pushing the electorate further and further away and, as a direct result, making up conspiracy theories about how an electoral system that is already heavily biased in their favour is 'rigged' against them.

Hopefully, if they get sued often enough and for enough money, this pyschos will give conservative movement back to the pragmatists and the USA can have a functioning democracy again, because sadly it doesn't look like just losing elections is going to be enough to convince them
