The Hypocrisy of Rand Paul

The Hypocrisy of Rand Paul

Postby Cactus Jack » Sun Dec 12, 2021 8:30 pm

Rand Paul, senator for Kentucky, who voted against Federal relief for the victims of Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey and did so gain voting against Federal relief for the victims of Hurricance Maria in Puerto Rico and yet again by voting against Federal relief for the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas has had a sudden change of heart on weather the victims of climate related disasters should get Federal relief.

He now thinks not only should people get relief the relief should be expedited, and the 'impoverished and hard hit corporations, like Amazon, should be first in line to get to get Federal funds.

You may guess the state affected this time was Kentucky

Just seven years ago, in the 2008 presidential campaign, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Hillary Clinton all opposed gay marriage. The Libertarian Party endorsed gay rights with its first platform in 1972 — the same year the Democratic nominee for vice president referred to “queers” in a Chicago speech. In 1976 the Libertarian Party issued a pamphlet calling for an end to antigay laws and endorsing full marriage rights.

So our resident Nazi thinks we should all hold onto our prejudices and not work to overcome them.

That explains a lot.

As an Irish Catholic I didn't start out being in favour of a woman's right to choose or gay marriage, but as a reasonable person open to logic and a compassionate person able to empathise with people who were different to me I was able to evolve, to respond to changing evidence.

Modern fake libertarians - conservatives too ashamed of what conservatism has become to associate themselves with it - should not try to get off light by associating themselves with the political pioneers of the 1970s who were, at that time, often to the left of socialists. We have all seen the homophobic and misogynistic comments our resident Nazi tries to pass of as libertarianism and his totalitarian nature shines through his every hypocritical utterance.

No wonder he's such a fan of Rand Paul who - and let's not let the Nazi make it all about himself - was completely opposed to anyone getting Federal disaster relief until it was his state, and his paymasters, that needed the help.

He's not quite as keen on representing the workers who died when they were forced to work on during a Red weather warning.

I was thinking January 1 would be a good day to return to conversations with CJ.

I'll re-evaluate the situation on Valentine's day. Until then, I'll let others talk to him.

The thread isn't about drug addled morons either

It's about Rand Paul demanding that the federal government take action where he has consistently voted against offering similar relief to others.

Aaaand here we go again!!

9 months after republican Kentucky senator Rand Paul goes begging for Federal storm relief - after voting AGAINST such help being available for emergencies - Florida's Matt Gaetz, De Santis & their nasty RW cabal do the same thing again.

Only a month ago, Gaetz voted against it, not realising his own people would soon be needing it.
These uber creeps have spent decades voting down the 'socialist' notion of giving federal disaster relief.

Now they go sheepishly crawling to Biden with their begging bowl. Oooops.
