CEO raises pay to $70k minimum

CEO raises pay to $70k minimum

Postby Grafenwalder » Wed Sep 22, 2021 10:34 pm

In 2015 this CEO put all his employees on $70k pa minimum - and took a $1 million pay cut himself which saw him eviscerated as "a socialist and enemy of capitalism" whose business would go bust.

But six years later he's doubled the amount of employees and tripled business. Everyone is still on $70k pa including the CEO.

There are no CEO's in a socialist economy. This is why I can't watch Fox news. They are as dumb as MSNBC and CNN.

He's running a financial company. Most of his employees were already making 70K or more, but more power to him. He's gotten a book deal out of this and the value of his company his risen a great deal. He's worth about 10 million now.

It turns out that the trickle down economy was actually an early comedy meme:

The first reference to trickle-down economics came from American comedian and commentator Will Rogers, who used it to derisively describe President Herbert Hoover’s stimulus efforts during the Great Depression.

Well, Germany is a capitalist country, so they should have CEOs.

Come on man, that's not what's happening here. Employees in the US often have a stake in their companies. The left here isn't really a fan of that. They do like this system because they are not being given a stake, they are making a higher income.

Amazon gave employees a stake a few months back and the left howled.

The John Lewis group in the UK is an example of how high end products can be stakeholder owned and popular with everyone.

I used to get free shares when I worked for a certain company. That's not the same as being paid a large salary.

OK, like I said, it's very common here, and not popular with the left as shares can become worthless.

And this example has nothing to do with shares.

The problem with this entire thread is that FOX called this socialism, when it's anything but. Now their stupidity is being rivaled by some on the left as they think this is an example of socialism working. It's not even close.

A capitalist, who owns his own company, made the individual decision to change the pay structure in his company to increase the value of his company.

He's a smart capitalist, regardless of the confused comments by those on the left and right.
