Anti-Semitic and Islamophobic attacks in the UK

I'm not sure if this belongs in the news forum so here's my justification.

The news tells us that the latest episode of the conflict in Israel and Gaza has led to a massive rise in the number of anti-semitic and Islamophobic attacks.

30p Lee actually went on an Islamophobic rant on GB News and the Times of Israel reports an all time high in attacks against Jews in the UK.

Whatever your position on the IDF, and whatever your position on HAMAS, it is supremely unlikely that you're going to find a member of either organisation masquerading as a school child in East London.

Jews in the UK are British Jews not Israeli Jews. The Israeli government does not speak for them, act on their behalf or represent them in any way and they have absolutely no power whatsoever to influence the actions of the IDF.

Muslims in the UK are British Muslims not HAMAS Muslims. HAMAS does not speak for them, act n their behalf or represent them in any way and they have absolutely no power whatsoever to influence the actions of HAMAS.

Here in the UK Jews and Muslims can, and do, work side by side with mutual respect, tolerance and understanding.

If you fancy yourself in as a warrior on either side get on a plane and sign up to whichever side you want - the streets of our towns and cities in the UK are places where you are welcome to march, you are entitled to show solidarity and you can absolutely make your voice heard in peaceful protest.

But making or encouraging any kind of attack on Jews or Muslims, or their places of worship, or the schools they attend doesn't make you a warrior - it makes you at best a coward and at worst a stupid one.
