Biden banning travel is good isn't it? They haven't detected Omicron in the US as far as I know. Why shouldn't he try to keep it out?

The president of Malawi has described travel bans imposed by several nations - including the United States - in response to a new strain of the coronavirus as "Afrophobia," joining other African leaders in condemning the restrictions.

Many countries have closed their borders to travelers from southern Africa after the new virus variant, dubbed omicron, was identified by South African scientists last week. SA is world class in disease control which has everything to do with it, they notified the world about the new variant. It didn't start there.

It's the same with all the variants - spread patterns change and disease control know what they're looking for long before they find it, it's all in the numbers.

SA disease control are world class but just as our politicians ignore SAGE advice whilst assuring us they're 'following the science' SA politicians do the same.
