The Republicans holding up a Ukrainian aid package is causing all sorts of problems in the battlefront for the Ukrainians.
Lack of ammunition, small bore and artillery shells, plus anti aircraft equipment etc, is seeing the UAF having to use their logistics sparingly against constant Russian barrages and offences using mechanised infantry and tanks.
The UAF are ceding land to the Russians, and the latter are amassing large forces to attempt to smash through Ukrainian lines, and if they do so, then Ukrainian cities will be at their mercy.
With republicans echoing official lines from Moscow, this is a very dangerous time for Ukraine.
They are now in dire straits and if they lose, the west will have Moscow on their doorstep.
Another iron curtain will descend over Europe.

Why should the USA pay for the Ukraine to defend itself when there are numerous nations closer that should be funding them to stop Russia over running their countries?

Ukraine is suffering very badly the GOP stopping aid, Putin must love the republicans.
I watched a video on the S400 anti air system, that Putin said was invincible, Turkey bought it, and later accused Russia of fraud in their sales pitch.
It’s shit, and stealth planes would annihilate with missiles before it got a shot off.
The planned F16 deliveries to Ukraine could launch long range missiles to do the same.
Which would be good, because the Russian innovation of putting GPS tracking and fin steering capability on old dumb bombs, which can be dropped a long way from the battlefront by aircraft out of reach of Ukrainian anti aircraft systems, are causing hell on earth for Ukrainian frontline units.
F16’s would be able to detect and destroy those aircraft before they could drop those glide bombs well inside Russian borders.
Which can’t come soon enough, Ukraine is now in a desperate situation, totally outnumbered and in dire need of military aid, to be able to stop relentless Russian meat assaults.
Ukraine will have to cede more ground until they receive military aid, and new troops, because frontline forces have faces two years of hell.
They’re very clever in drawing Russians into traps and using weapons and ammunition sparingly, but they’re certainly on the defensive, and won’t be able to recapture and ground without major aid.
Slava Ukraine, fuck Russia, but also have pity for the troops of both sides getting slaughtered on a daily basis, and for what?

The proposed US aid can’t arrive in Ukraine soon enough, the severe lack of artillery shells and anti aircraft systems have caused the UAF to retreat in the overwhelming Russian firepower and air superiority.
Defending cities against aerial threats has been the priority, but this left Ukrainian troops on the frontline with very little to combat Russian planes dropping glide bombs and firing missiles at them. Even Russian helicopters firing missiles at them was something that wouldn’t have happened had they more anti aircraft weapons.
A few Ukrainian troops surrendered to the Russians because they said they had nothing left to fight with and were under constant bombardment. In the videos the Russians aired the Ukrainian prisoners looked utterly shell shocked, poor buggers had clearly had enough. A sure sign that morale is crumbling.
On the other hand there’s a Russian video showing Russian troops getting agitated and firing rifles and RPG’s at a Ukrainian position, and all because the UAF troops were playing The Star Spangled Banner from loudspeakers aimed at the Russians.
I thought that very amusing, the Ukrainians are obviously very happy that the US aid is on the way.

When this all started our Politicians and our media said the power hungry madman Putin was gravely ill and would soon be overthrown because the Russian economy would tank with all the economic sanctions and because of all their military losses of soldiers, equipment, tanks and ships.

At the same time our Politicians and our media said if we don't stop Putin in Ukraine, Putin's armies would roll into Poland, Romania, Germany, France and then into Britain. Hence we must all be willing to accept the Putin Price Hike as the Ukrainians paid with Ukrainian lives.

Two contradictory narratives with the same end goal:
a) keep funding and supporting the Ukrainians in this war against Russia.
b) the downfall of Putin and Russia is near, they are on their last legs, so we must all keep funding and supporting this.
c) if we don't keep funding and supporting the Ukrainians, Putin and Russia will invade Poland, Romania, Germany, France and Britain and it will be too late for all of us.
