A right load of bollocks...

Technology.

A couple of years ago I came into possession of a Windows 98 pc complete with disc and floppy... I'm sure there will be people here who never saw a floppy drive or Windows 95 but I connected it up to the internet and it did better than expected for a short time.
But what seemed so smart back when it was the thing was so primitive in today's world!
Your phone is a much more powerful tool/toy so is your tablet and desktops are something again that rarely go wrong.
Now we have AI and humanoid robots!
We also have unreal very realistic video people or avatars.
Get a look at this one....

Can't remember if I had to but the monitor came with it so no problem.
Games as well and games which were fun at the time and looked impressive were shockingly primitive.
Of course we now have VR as well which when my grandson got a set a couple of years ago I was shocked by the realism!
He sold it after a short time because there wasn't enough stuff available to keep his short attention span occupied... probably changed by now I don't know.

I still rely on my desktop for here, emails and Twitter mostly. I love two screens, a clacky keyboard, a wired mouse and speakers, let alone a 'proper' computer in a box because it's an immersive experience. My new phone can do everything that my PC can and probably better but my workstation is comforting and familiar in a way that a handheld slab of glass can never be.

For me the bit that stands out using a desktop is online banking of all things.
I never imagined me using money online.
A big screen is important to me for that.
The other which comes second is playing about with sound.
I seriously alter/edit create/ sounds before putting that sound into a tune.

Ironically I prefer to use my phone for banking, the security is good and it's so easy to use.

Mobile phone banking is a godsend, simple, instantaneous and most efficient.

It’s amazing that people used to go to banks on Fridays to withdraw money for the weekend, even from the hole in the wall.

Now it’s all readily available at your finger tips.

I've sold vehicles with digital bank transfers no cash involved.

What if there's a global computer system crash, or a cyber attack?
That's when cash comes handy.
We always have cash in the house.

Earlier in the year we had a nationwide Eftpos outage, I went shopping, had a whole trolley full of groceries, and just as I came to the checkout, the Eftpos machines crashed.
Just as well I had cash on me.

Eftpos outages reported around country
