There should be a ban on breeding them. They don't even look safe, their eyes are too small

There is a ban on pitbulls in the UK
Unfortunately some arseholes ignore the ban and keep on breeding.

It's the same here in NZ, they are banned, yet they're still around.

When were pitbulls banned in the UK?

It is illegal to breed, sell, abandon, or give away certain types of dog in the UK.

The 1980s saw an increasing number of reports of unprovoked attacks by pitbulls on humans.

Between 1981 and 1991 there were 15 fatal dog attacks in England and Wales.

In 1991, the UK government decided to take action, banning the breed along with three others.

Holly, XL Bully is not a pitbull and isn't a banned breed in the UK.

Crazy as it is.

If you see an XL Bully in the flesh you realise it is not a family pet and would be uncontrollable for most people, it says a lot about the type that breeds/owns such a dog,

I had to google it...I see what you mean :kinell:

It makes no sense that they haven't been banned, it's crazy.

I saw one in a white van at an NHS distribution point while the driver was unloading with the window wide open next to me. The fucking thing had gold chains and a crucifix on :kinell:

What happens in Bridgwater stays in Bridgwater... :shoot:

I've been bitten too many times and a mate at work was literally eaten by a dog bred to hunt bears https://www.totnes-today.co.uk/news/cou ... iff-588497

I just try not to have contact with any of them now, apart from the really cute ones and sausage dogs obs :wubbers:

Hope your mate is okay now.
There's no way that anyone should own a dog that they are incapable of keeping under control.

I feel sorry for dogs reared by fucking nutcases.
They end up being put down for acting as per their training.
Bring back dog licensing, and have them present themselves to some authority with the dog they wish to license.
The dog, or owner, can then be dealt with before they cause harm to others.

Deal with the owners and boost the intelligence levels in society(probably cut down on some of the crime figures as a side benefit) dogs are easier to retrain and rehabilitate.

Why anyone would want such an ugly looking thing God alone knows - maybe they think it makes them look well 'ard and macho.

I don't think that you can train these things in the first place, they have an instinct to lock on and shake unlike other dogs who will bite you all over the place unless they are trained.
