Why is it colder at night than day?
As we all know, the sun will heat the Earth’s surface during the day. Then at night, the sun is on the other side of the globe, so temperatures cool back down. The clouds can be a difference maker, day or night. On nights with cloudy conditions, the sun will set and the temperature will begin to cool like normal.

The heat can't get in if there's heavy cloud cover... think mini nuclear winter think Bill Gates wanting to experiment with blocking the sun with man made cloud cover.
Never in our lives ours being me and neighbours,,, have we ever seen this before.
The rising and the setting of the sun has had no effect for a week. No ups and downs of temperature.
It's very weird.
Have a good new year SF.
