Will it work? :smilin:

Sadly not - but it will be worth a try.

You'll be OK mate, I promise... without going into too much of my own private hurt, I can assure you, you'll get through it...I did, against all odds. Hun, there's so much hurt and misery out there, most likely more than you feel right now. Think of all the people who have lost loved ones this year ( including children ) through meaningless violence, illness, horrible accidents etc and have to celebrate Xmas without them for the first time.. but you know what? Things keep moving on and most people get on with it. You will be alright, just think of those people who go through a lot worse at this time of the year and you will actually feel lucky mate .

Cheers Hol.

As a mod you will have my hotmail - you are welcome to say hello anytime. :cuppaT:

It usually starts in late October and regurgitates onto our tellies and in our newspapers every single day until a week after xmas day. :grrrrr:

Seasonal greetings Hol.

Thanks for being so cheerful, you're a great comfort :gigglesnshit:

Thanks Hol, I try to keep up the morale on this forum with my cheery posts. :turniphead: :skip: :dream:

The first Christmas without a loved one must be very hard.

I know this will be Cleo's first Christmas without her mum and it will be my Cousin's first Christmas without his wife and his children's first Christmas without their mum.

The youngest was only 16 when her mum passed away in January and her sister was only 17.

My aunt died at the weekend and it would have been her birthday this week.

However instead of buying birthday cards, her children have had to arrange her funeral.

Christmas?

The annual orgy of gluttony and greed...followed by much debt and worry for many.

I'll pass thanks. :smilin:

I realised the ridiculous attitude some people have about Christmas when a friend was killed in a car crash on the 20th of December one year.
Idiots were saying how it would spoil his wife's Christmas.
What a bad time for this to happen they were saying.

A husband's death trumps Christmas.

For the information of fools, Christmas is a manufactured concept by commerce to cash in on gullible fools.

I'm going to start another Christmas thread and all the members who don't like Christmas can keep their miserable arses out of it.

Well the title of the thread does say 'love it or HATE it?'....... so a mixed response is to be expected! :SGrin:

That's one side of it, but it's also a time to get together with people you like/love. I'm guessing that's what thos 'idiots' were reffering to.
