Shame Andy was knocked out Vam, his hip was the problem.

Still never mind, hopefully he'll be okay for the next tournament.

It started so well for him, Vic. But you could tell he was in a world of pain by the fourth set. Sam Querrey's consistently awesome serves didn't help matters either!

Hope Andy now gets the R&R he clearly needs, and returns fighting fit next year

The Hitman v The Bodysnatcher - at light middleweight.

Very close but I think Tommy was the best at all time at this weight so takes it by a round or two with his magnificent boxing skills and tremendous reach and jab and his crippling right would give even steel chinned McCallum pause for thought.

Mike actually would have fared better against Hagler at middle in my opinion - a pick 'em fight that would certainly go the distance and I think he could have nicked it off Marv.

Congratulations to Roger - surely the greatest player of all time. :cuppaT:

As for the cricket words fail me - England (bar Root and Anderson) have been absolutely bloody awful in this match. :brickwall:

Looking forward to the Borg V McEnroe movie. Sverrir Gudnason looks spot on as Borg, not so sure about Shia LaBeouf as McEnroe though:

Yeah, both the ladies and the men's finals were great disappointments. :dunno:

However the mixed doubles almost made up for it. :again?:

Come on Murray, Come on Hingis. :awesome:

Just wanted to say a word about all our incredible paralympians - but our superstars do always stand out - Richard Whitehead is awesome, Johnny Peacock is wonderful and Hannah Cockcroft is a total babe - and utterly invincible.

And a quick word for the Werewolf - I hope you enjoy retirement sir. :cuppaT:

Thinking about poor James 'Black Gold' Shuler - beautiful technical and undefeated boxer but was unfortunate to come against Tommy Hearns at his middleweight best.

73 seconds later he lost his title KTFO by a right hand, not long afterwards he lost his life to a motorcycle accident - but not his belt.

Hearns was at the funeral and made sure it was buried with James.

Some fighters once had class.

Yes Stooo - but the poor sod will still not get the recognition he really deserves - all because of a cheating yank bastard. :shake head:

England have won the Women's Cricket World Cup.

We'll never hear the end of it, that mob's bragging knows no bounds.

QUESTIONS have been raised as to whether men’s sport should be given equal coverage to women’s sport.

Yesterday saw England’s cricketers win the women’s world cup in a thrilling finale before England’s footballers beat Spain 2-0 at the women’s European Championships, something the men’s team will never achieve without drugs.

Sport watcher Wayne Hayes said: “It’s time we admitted that men aren’t really equipped to do sport. They lack the determination, the passion, and most of all, the killer instinct that sets our sportswomen apart from the ordinary bloke on the street.

“Giving men’s sport equal coverage is a good idea in theory, but I don’t know anyone who actually enjoys watching it.”

Football fan Tom Logan added: “Watching the Lionesses, I felt enjoyment, mixed with excitement and pride. As an England supporter I’ve never experienced any of those emotions before.”

Meanwhile, a British man did achieve some sporting success at the weekend but no-one cared because all he did was ride around France on his bicycle
