Oh no, not spuds.

A right load of bollocks...

Oh no, not spuds.

I read in the newspaper today that eating potatoes for four or more times per week increased the risk of high blood pressure by 11%.

That makes my blood boil ,I'm going to stop ...

It turns out that carbs and sugar are really bad for you after all and fat is good for you. I've always enjoyed an honest baked potato (salt and butter, why try to gild the lily?) and am partial to battered chips fried in beef dripping... :grub:

Bake the spuds in the microwave, then crisp them up in the oven and fill with grated extra mature cheddar and grated onion - delicious! :grub:

Sweet potatoes are very good for you. Great as a mash, no need for cream or butter but do add salt n pepper.

I prefer them cooked in the oven Keyser, i don't like them done in the microwave.

When they're done slice in half scoop out potato from skin mix with cheese and chives/onions/spring onions salt and pepper refill and bung back in oven to crisp up. That's a proper baked cheesy potato.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! No.

Roast potatoes or baked potatoes must be done in a real oven, not a microwave. :grrrrr:

I've tried microwave roast tatties, tastes and looks like wet concrete. :dunno:

Microwaves are for heating up soup or milk. :snooty:

You are all of course correct - it's for convenience really. I think will use the oven in future.

Give them a good pricking and rub them in olive oil before grinding some salt over them and bunging them in the oven on the top shelf

that's my favourite and I always do them the same as you. Wash and prick them with fork and microwave (4) for about 12 mins. Then I stick them on kebab skewers and put in hot oven for about half an hour and they are lovely and crispy and also well cooked on inside.

I have started spiralizing every veg I can get my hands on and red onions Spiralize nicely and a big dollop of those on grated cheese on a spud looks great.

I also love sweet potatoes as someone else mentioned. I chop those up with loads of stuff like peppers, tomatoes, courgettes, aubergine, onions and season and roast. Yum! :canny:
