Britons to pay €7 to enter Europe

Britons to pay €7 to enter Europe

Postby Grafenwalder » Wed Aug 04, 2021 6:33 pm

British holidaymakers heading to Europe are set to pay around £6.20 after the EU published its proposals for visa-style fees and security forms.

The EU Commission has confirmed it plans to charge visitors a €7 fee when it introduces its European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) before the end of 2022.

Mouthy Malone said on todays Vine show (she's always on because Vine loves right mingers) the EU are being "spiteful and divisive" because they're going to charge €7 per visa for Brits to enter Europe.

Gobshite Malone doesn't get the fact as we're no longer EU members, we have to pay, or as one tweeted "To put it in really simple Brexit terms, we've cancelled our Sky Sports subscription and each time we want to watch a football match we're going to have to pay for a Now TV pass."

That's not a bad analogy Graf.

You can pay £9.98 to watch one match or £28 to watch a match almost every day.

Why would anyone want to pay £9.98 a week (so basically £40 a month) when you can get more for less.

I expect we voted for an EU visa scheme when still an EU member and another thing for sure, we knew about this three years ago but Brexiters dismissed it as "Project Fear."

You do.

The cost of a tourist visa to visit America is $160 for Europeans.

Some place are and some aren't, same as the EU.

Paris or Peteri are all on the same EU visa and New York and New Mexico are on the same US visa.

Or not.

Looking at this pass for the EU it's not a visa it's a part of some security set up and it won't be in until 2022

I don’t remember ever having to pay for a visa for the U.S.

For stays under 90 days the UK is one of the countries that is part of the visa waiver program.

It's a recipricol agreement so Americans can stay here for up to 90 days too.

That makes sense then. Most holidays don’t last over a month but this is worth knowing if I ever decide to do a road trip there.
