The donations have increased 2000 fold since all this kicked off, just over a few days. That's amazing but it's going to piss of UKGov big time and it's not like they can threaten the funding either

Why would it piss off the Government? They can save money by letting the RNLI escort migrants instead of having to pay someone to do it.

The donations pay for all of that, i'm not sure how it all works when they land, do they get medical treatment or checks or do they just run off as soon as they can ?

They go to Rags house for a hot meal followed by cheese and biscuits. They return the hospitality by giving her some diversity training.

However, as the RNLI said, “Our lifeboats operate under international maritime law, which states we are permitted and indeed obligated to enter the waters of other territories for search and rescue purposes… Our lifesavers are compelled to go to those in need without judgement of how they came to be in the water.”

The RNLI have no intention to be controlled by the government and would prefer to exist from donations. They do it to save lives, nothing else.
