Thae argument that I got back from this was 'Yeah but it snowed in June in the 70's, it's nothing new'.

And then I watched Ros Aitkins tonight and shit myself. It's not on iPlayer yet or YouTube.

Have you seen this heat dome shit in SW Canada and NW USA? There's been an immovable area of high pressure there that's stopping other weather fronts moving in that would carry rain into an area baked for two years so far, it isn't moving and it's just getting hotter.

Oops just noticed that! It will get uploaded later normally after all news.

Sky is reporting at least 120 dead and 1,300 missing so the final death toll is going to be pretty horrendous.

Weather has been great in Texas.

But the poor folks in the Pacific Northwest and Canada almost cooked to death a few weeks ago.

115-117 without AC is deadly.

The heat dome affecting the US and Canada is an event that scientists are telling us could not have happened without the effects of climate change. Actually being scientists they're not telling us that, they're telling us it's an event that should only happen anywhere on Earth once in a million years without the effects of rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It's the heat dome there that's causing the torrential rain in Europe, one side was going to get the heat the other side the rain.

Is that Jeff Bezos who heads into space, or any of the other multi billionaires who fly around the globe in private jets and drive gas guzzling cars?

I don't think that's who the cartoonist is trying to represent.

I could be wrong but Jeff Bezos is rather famously bald and the charcter in the cartoon has hair.

Similarly it's unlikely to be Richard Branson as most caricatures of the Virgin boss focus on his beard and the character in the cartoon is clean shaven.

I'm surprised you missed that Holly.

Well, by the time this cartoon is supposed to be set in (meaning the future) they probably would have invented hair growth shampoo :gigglesnshit:

And you think Jeff will live that long and significantly de-age.

Well medical science makes remarkable advances every day.

I hear they can now prevent the cancer caused by windmill noise 100% of the time.

According to AOC, the world will end in 12 years if nothing gets done drastically. So yes, all the billionaires can still be alive.

I think hyperbolic language like that just gives conservatives something to distract the idiots with but there is defnitely something the contention that climate change is having a huge effects.

These floods were the first where modellers were able to unequivocally declare they would not have happened had it not been for climate change.
