True. But even drivers who stay local are almost all men.
It's one of the reasons behind the gender pay gap. There are certain trades that women steer clear of in great numbers. Construction is another.
A lot of our artic' drivers are female, delivery drivers not so much. I guess that the big rigs have less physical work going on but a lot of driving which is a piece of piss nowadays with all of the driver aids that are common now. Our night shift (lifting and carrying) is almost exclusively male except for a trans-woman who is going through her transition.
