Government Corruption

I'll start with the obvious and latest...

Tory MPs Vote Down Commons Inquiry Into Greensill Lobbying Scandal
Labour called for a parliamentary probe as Boris Johnson’s “wholly inadequate” review is chaired by a “good friend” of the Conservatives.

Tory Sleaze - it's their trademark, and leopards never change their spots.

The new idea is to put your own man in charge of a sham enquiry, then use your 80 majority to vote down the idea of a proper unbiased enquiry.

The UK should be taking to the streets about such naked greed and corruption, but hey, it's a bit nippy out and might rain later...

Shower of shit :/

It was left to Chloe Smith, who is being treated for cancer at home – so brave of Michael Gove to let one of his deputies take the hit; like Sunak the day before, he had made himself scarce – to defend the indefensible. You know you’ve lost when your best line is that other countries are even more corrupt, but that was all she had.

So the government was not going to vote for a more thorough investigation. Now was not the time to raise our standing in the world. Certainly not when it was by no means clear that Dodgy Dave had not been speaking to several other cabinet ministers and more shit was yet to hit the fan.

And the reason they're making it so is more evident as the days/weeks/months go on.

A lawyer’s viral video documenting spurious claims made by Boris Johnson in parliament has surpassed 10 million views, he has revealed.

In August last year Peter Stefanovic compiled and uploaded a two-minute video in which he fact-checked several claims made by Johnson since he became prime minister.

These include the government’s record on emissions reductions, economic growth, nurses’ bursaries, hospital car parking, NHS spending, the Covid-19 track and trace app, and poverty in the UK.

Just over six months later, the video has been widely shared and Mr Stefanovic said it surpassed 10 million views on Tuesday.

Why would someone like Cameron who is already minted up to his eyeballs - plus he has a handsome superannuated pension - want any more money?
His wife is extremely wealthy too - a descendant of the aristocracy who grew up in a palatial mansion.

And the scams they get involved in - its never a million or two - it's eye watering amounts. He stood to make £20-£60M apparently.
Not to worry, guys, Bozza's got a mate totally impartial chap to conduct an inquiry into the scandal. :gigglesnshit:

Failed wealth aspirations or something :dunno:

Get serious. That is what David Cameron could have said in his interview with Robert Peston last night.

There is nothing more ridiculous than Britain in a fit of self-righteousness. Afflicted with inherited wealth, Cameron had behaved sensibly. Before entering office, he sold any of his father’s legacy that might be controversial, even if legal, and told the taxman. That this included money invested free of tax because traded offshore was hardly his fault. Labour’s Margaret Hodge had similar trouble.

If all of us sold any of our savings traded offshore we would need to sit up all night scanning our pension funds. As the financial pundit James Quarmby told the BBC this morning, millions benefit from offshore funds – and if they do not know, they cannot complain.

These people are addicted to money.
It's the real meaning of greed.
They're not like you and me they are total addicts.
There is no such thing as enough.

They're so unashamedly overt and blatant in their disgusting self-serving behaviour.
They really don't give a damn what people think, and in fact they don't give a hoot about anyone but themselves.
They are not a government for the people.
People are suffering and they don't give a hoot.
Horrible bastards.
