Tory - how dare these people 'demand' even the basic necessities of life?

More bollox from you.

This is what asylum seekers get here in the UK
It's the law.
Nothing to do with the Tories.
These laws were brought in (to replace earlier laws) in 2008
Now, who was in government in 2008?

Housing
You’ll be given somewhere to live if you need it.
This could be in a flat, house, hostel or bed and breakfast.
You cannot choose where you live.

Cash support
You’ll get £37.75 for each person in your household.
This will help you pay for things you need like food, clothing and toiletries.
Your allowance will be loaded onto a debit card (ASPEN card) each week.
You’ll be able to use the card to get cash from a cash machine.

Healthcare
You may get free National Health Service (NHS) healthcare, such as to see a doctor or get hospital treatment.
You’ll also get:
free prescriptions for medicine
free dental care for your teeth
free eyesight tests
help paying for glasses

Education
Your children must attend school if they are aged 5 to 17.
All state schools are free and your children may be able to get free school meals.

Seems he basically ran amok. That being a term for exactly this same thing in Malaysia, obviously in the past. The Amok would, after a suitable period of contemplating his grievances, bind his testicles with a rag til the pain drove him insane, after which he'd run through the souk with a machete until someone killed him. Tragic but essentially random.

The only person who died was the culprit who was shot by the police, 6 others including a police officer are in hospital with injuries.

One person has died and a police officer has been stabbed while dealing with an incident in Glasgow
Police Scotland confirmed that one individual was fatally shot by armed police on Glasgow's West George Street and another six people were injured. Among these was a police officer who is in a critical but stable condition. Police have asked members of the public to avoid the area, although they've said the situation is contained.

So easy to huff and puff, quoting what these people SHOULD get. How typically Tory.

If only they did - but when you hand over the responsibility of dealing with them to cheapskate companies like Mears, we hear stories of people in great pain denied ANY medical care for days, and even denied painkillers. It's all about doing it on the cheap, as Tories know full well. Food is cheap and nasty. Accommodation is cheap, poor and overcrowded. Frankly the company running this operation should face criminal charges. People have died on their watch.

But hey... huff, puff and deny away Bungle, about something that (as usual) you know nothing about. But do read this first. And don't bother shooting the messenger.

I've told you before
Check your sources.
Are Mears complying with the law?
Are the whingers asylum seekers who's claim had been rejected and their benefits had expired?
Check before you post.

Labour = How dare they put asylum seekers in a hotel with only five star ratings in a city centre?

Labour - poor people being treated like that, who blames them for showing their displeasure ?

Labour - the only real victims are the asylum seekers, more should be done to make their lives more comfortable.

These asylum seekers should be glad they are given a roof over their heads and food and medicines instead of complaining. What food would they be having in refugee camps in Calais? Not a lot maybe.

They had no money, very little food and no medical help.. They were moved by the MEARS group (who are funded by the Home Office) from homes into these budget hotels during covid. There was no care of any kind. The Mears Group have lied and failed again.

What do you mean - no care?
Do you mean they couldn’t see a dentist?
Well neither could I
Do you mean they couldn’t get their haircut.
Well neither could I

They were moved into the hotel for their own safety during the virus

If Mears have broken the law please let us have the details

Mears are just another Serco. profit before people. They only just admitted that they had failed these people, they were already in accommodations but Mears decided to cut costs to those people and they all got slung into hotels with nothing.

the #MearsGroup admitted to Scottish MPs that they had FAILED to do vulnerability assessments of 370 asylum seekers who they forcibly moved from serviced accommodation to cheap hotels during lockdown.

If there's accommodation available for asylum seekers, why isn't there any for British homeless people?

"Are Mears complying with the law?" - Absolutely not. Hence the demonstrations against them.

Are their compliance failures dutifully ignored by the Tory-run Home Office? Of course they are, it's what Tories do.
