Just stumbled across this, which I'll post up for posterity.

In it, Diane Abbott can be quoted as saying the following:-
"There are reasons to stay in Europe. There are reasons to stay out of Europe. I am glad we are having a referendum. It should be the people's referendum. It shouldn't be dominated by the games they are playing in the tory party"

It will be interesting to see if anybody reminds her of this comment when/if Corbyn attempts to block or delay Brexit at any point in the future.

Corbyn, brought up in a ten bedroom mansion, privately educated, on around £150,000 a year with a pension pot in the millions, all funded by the taxpayer, addresses a crowd of wealthy folk at Glastonbury, who can afford £250 for a ticket, and tells them that he is the new Messiah who can save the world. The fools cheer him.
Not one of them seemed to realise that they are the very class who would be screwed by his taxation plans. Either there were more drugs there than previously estimated, or the majority of the crowd are irredeemably thick. :dunno:

LOL.

How out of touch are you? for god sake dont look up how much the proles spend on their all-inclusive holidays and trips to the football, etc.

And his tax plans only effect those earning more than £80k. Funny how the media paint those earning that much as not rich, meanwhile spending £250 for a weekend festival equals "rich as fuck"

Two of my mates who are roofers went (one is in his late 60's), a few blokes at work and the chap who has the burger van where I get my lunch from. Hardly the metropolitan elite...

If you go to #Glasto and speak about rampant capitalism and greed, you're a spoiled middle class idiot.

If you’re poor and speak against rampant capitalism and greed, it’s the politics of envy.

If you’re rich and speak against rampant capitalism and greed, you’re a spoiled Hollywood actor who doesn’t understand the real world.

If you’re a charity and speak against rampant capitalism and greed, you should stick to something about Africa or sick animals.

If you’re a union and speak against rampant capitalism and greed, you’re an old fashioned socialist wielding too much power.

If you’re a church and speak against rampant capitalism and greed, you should stick to preaching tea and biscuits to empty pews.

If you’re a business and speak against rampant capitalism and greed, you don’t understand the markets and are unrepresentative.

If you’re a minority and speak against rampant capitalism and greed, you have divided loyalties and are probably a secret terrorist.

If you’re a nurse or teacher and speak against rampant capitalism and greed, you’re too reliant on the state to have any independent thought

Conclusion: nobody is ever qualified to speak for the poor.
Ever.

Rod Liddle wrote an amusing piece about Dianne Abbott in last weeks Sunday Times:

Abbott's nasty bout of drivel

"Commiserations to Dianne Abbott on the type 2 diabetes that laid her low during the campaign. Health officials have warned us the country is experiencing an epidemic of this debilitating illness, and the symptoms are in fact terrifying. One minute you're feeling perfectly ok, the next, you're at a radio station talking unimaginable bollocks for 10 minutes, to the utter bemusement of the host and the millions listening at home.

It's an ailment we do not yet fully understand, and one hopes Abbott recovers soon"

Any idea what happened to the policies the Tories were saying we should vote for?

I have a cousin who suffers from diabetes and as yet she hasn't exhibited that particular symptom. :pmsl:
