Then we get this...Sunak & Cameron & King Charles each take separate private jets to travel to UN climate summit.
Oh it must have been an oversight a mistake.
Their diaries meant it couldn't be any other way.
The amount of shit some of you chew is fucking frightening!

When scientists can’t even agree on global warming, whilst world leaders/the rich preach and then don’t practice what they preach, what hope is there for we minions?

Please advise mystic Meg.

You do realise that you can want to do the best for the planet whilst recognising that those 'leading' us are utter hypocrites?

sticking two fingers up at the environment as a reaction to elitism is a bit of a shit move

The world is a very dangerous place, we need to be ready, we need the funding to be able to protect ourselves.

And if our perceived enemies are gearing up for a long protracted phoney war, then so should we.

Churchill said “if you want peace, prepare for war.”

I went a little more in depth ...
Rosebank has the capacity to supply the world's current oil needs for just less than a week so don't worry to much about what it adds to the worlds carbon consumption.
That does alter the perspective a little doesn't it.
But if we had a nationalised energy system it would ease the life of business greatly as the self employed and the big corporations travelled about a little less expensively.
It could have a great impact on the cost of living crisis but won't.

This country needs revenue, because it can’t afford to look after all our own people at present, and it needs to up industrial capability because of the Ukraine war.
Which isn’t going away anytime soon.

Rishi has done the right thing regarding oil and gas exploration other than that the west in general seem to be on some kind of suicide mission dictated by the WEF.
As well as an energy crisis... yes crisis we will soon be in a food crisis with farms being forcibly closed down and animals slaughtered and not to be replaced.
The WEF are determined to reshape the west first but the globe as a whole and the plan is an old revolutionary one based on you cannot change thing so destroy and restart.
Trouble is Asia is booming along while we are being forced into collapse.
Very dangerous.

It’s not the time for it, we need a worldwide consensus, a time of war for this crap is madness.

The Sahara desert will always be there and the ocean should remain at the same levels for ever more?

I thought this thread was about a need to increase energy production, mining and securing raw materials, plus increasing industrial production in the face of The Perceived Coming Storm brewing in the East.

Climate change, and emissions targets need to be seriously put on hold whilst we live in such troubled times.

Securing raw materials, including food, and gearing up for war need to be the priorities if we are to secure peace.

All the tree huggers need to be ignored at this point in time.

What’s the point of hitting net zero with a total inability to defend ourselves if the shit hits the fan?

Why do so many feel it the job of the US to defend us, who they hate, so that we can have orange powder thrown everywhere?

Fucking idiots!

Ramp up Oil, Gas, Mining, All raw materials, and increase industrial production.

Just Stop Putin! Then we can have a rethink.

There’s no point sleepwalking into a nightmare, future generations will not forgive us.

Many climate change scientists do not agree that global warming is happening
editor—The apocalyptic tone that Smith adopted in relation to the environment bears little relation to reality.1 In his editorial Smith asserts, “virtually all scientists agree that global warming is happening.” Global warming is now joining the list of “what everyone knows.”

Whether most scientists outside climatology believe that global warming is happening is less relevant than whether the climatologists do. A letter signed by over 50 leading members of the American Meteorological Society warned about the policies promoted by environmental pressure groups. “The policy initiatives derive from highly uncertain scientific theories. They are based on the unsupported assumption that catastrophic global warming follows from the burning of fossil fuel and requires immediate action. We do not agree.”2 Those who have signed the letter represent the overwhelming majority of climate change scientists in the United States, of whom there are about 60. McMichael and Haines quote the 1995 report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is widely believed to “prove” that climate change induced by humans has occurred.3 The original draft document did not say this. What happened was that the policymakers’ summary (which became the “take home message” for politicians) altered the conclusions of the scientists. This led Dr Frederick Seitz, former head of the United States National Academy of Sciences, to write, “In more than sixty years as a member of the American scientific community ... I have never witnessed a more disturbing corruption of the peer-review process than the events that led to this IPCC report.”4

Policymaking should be guided by proved fact, not speculation. Most members of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change believe that current climate models do not accurately po..... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1112950/
Such stuff of course never makes it to the BBC or the Guardian.
