Yes they should and he knows better than most having served time in jail for being in contempt of court by ignoring a judges ruling. His foolish actions very nearly brought a paedophile trial to an abrupt end. There's no bigger twat than Yaxley and I don't buy into your belief of his naive innocence. He knows which buttons to press and is a thoroughly nasty piece of work with a very warped mindset.

I don't know about him changing his stance after he found out he was wrong. However, he did retract what he said very quickly and publically.

He's not the first to open his mouth before checking his source and the facts, and he won't be the last. It's all getting out of hand. I think that was the online abuse which resulted in the Hijazi family moving from the area. Everyone is responsible for their own behaviour, sadly some don't take it and are incapable of making any adult decisions. They look for a "leader" they can fawn over who will tell them what to do, what to think, and what they should believe.

He had a choice and plenty of opportunity to avoid an "absurd cost", but he's an asshole so now he's got to pay. Hopefully the court will seize whatever assets they can.

He admitted shortly after the claims that he had been misinformed, and he said so publically. The question is - if his followers heard the claim and then heard the retraction, why did the boy get abuse?

I think this sort of problem is going to get worse. Some people think that saying something on social media is the same as saying it in a pub. Of course it's not because of the number of people who read about or hear the claims.

It's surely only a matter of time before Tommy R is libelled and he makes a ton of money out of it. People need to think about what they're saying before they say it - especially him.

The Syrian schoolboys family suffered abuse as a result of Yaxleys lies and had to move. Yaxley knew he'd committed libel and should have withdrawn it with a full apology. He didn't so they took him to court where he lost - BIG time.

I don't give a flying fig how much he gets creamed for and hope he suffers from it. He's such an arrogant little git he was still busy fanning the flames of Muslim hate during the proceedings.

He admitted it was fake news, although he didn't apologise.

Are you not at all concerned about the people who abused or threatened the boy? Shouldn't they be hunted down and prosecuted?
