FBI warns of violent threats to bureau as Trump demands Mar-a-Lago documents back

The FBI has warned that threats against federal law enforcement personnel are spiking dramatically in the wake of the raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home last week.

A memo issued jointly by the bureau and the Department of Homeland Security warns of “the potential for domestic violent extremists to carry out attacks...in reaction to the FBI's recent execution of a court-authorized search warrant in Palm Beach, Florida”. The bulletin even warns of a threat to “place a so-called Dirty Bomb in front of FBI headquarters”.

Armed supporters of former president Donald Trump protested outside the FBI’s office in Phoenix, Arizona.

Some protesters held signs saying “Honor your oath: Arrest all traitors”.

Others were dressed in military fatigues with bullet-proof vests with rifles.

I know they've always been a bit odd but seriously, grown men dressing up pretending to be 'soldiers'. What IS the matter with these folk? :off head:

Oh boy are you in for a treat. This thread is as long as fuck but when you get to Alex Jones and Roger Stone training with an army of Proud Boys and other erection dysfunctional alphas for a month and a half then you realise how serious this coup was. It's a shameless plug for his book but a total roller-coaster

Don't you find it just a little bit suspicious that Hillary can make up that Russian collusion, demolish phones, and deletes 30K emails, and nothing gets done about it? Probably not, the left can't do wrong, but excuse me if I do. Anyway, we're talking in circles.

They are going after Trump because he's a criminal, this isn't political it's national if not world security at risk if he's squireling away nuclear intel with a view to selling it on or blackmail (apparently there's something on Macron). The thing is this is 2022, why didn't he bang it all on a thumb drive rather than printing it all out? Judging by his past I'd say that it's because he's as thick as pigshit and recent photos of him at golf appear to show him as a walking corpse, Weekend at Bernies anyone?

The American left are further RW than the UK tories so don't get me started on them

It's the same as applies in law here. Anyone questioned by the police is entitled to state "no comment". However if genuinely innocent you aren't helping yourself and only making matters a lot worse!

This is an interesting report; https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... -for-trump

I never said Trump is innocent of everything he's accused of, but are you actually suggesting that the Bidens/Clintons are ethical, honest, trustworthy politicians? If you say yes, than sorry, but it's your hypocrisy that's laughable. It is my firm believe that ALL politicians are corrupt to some extent.

I know you didn't, I was posing the question generally.

For a suspect under investigation to respond with "no comment" (the British legal equivalent of pleading the Fifth) always ends with the person in a bigger hole because the police aren't daft. Afaik Clinton had sex with Monica Lewinsky when she worked as a secretary at the White House, but to my knowledge he didn't walk off with a bundle of classified documents after his term of office came to an end. Thats an extremely serious offence and exactly what Trumps reason was for keeping them, only he knows the truthful answer so good luck in getting anything remotely close to it from him!

If you want someone to be punished for taking and allegedly destroying public records in an unauthorised manner shouldn't you want everyone who does that punished?

Trump ignored discovery and you don't get to do that.

No - not being on the right I don't expect a total acceptance of 'whatever the new line is'.

Donald Trump refused to comply with a subpoena and search warrant was issued that, on the face of it, seems to confirm that government files were being improperly stored at Mar-a-Lago.

Maybe a guest at Mar-a-lago was discovered, or strongly suspected to be, an agent of a hostile power and that's why they needed to act quickly.

And there you see me - who does not believe that Donald Trump is innocent - presenting a far better defence of him than the blanket accusations, distractions, deflections and deceit being put out by a client media circle that knows Donald Trump is guilty but doesn't want to accept it.

Only you have mentioned the Clintons.

And if you want to make that comparison in investigating 'missing emails' from Benghazi alone the Republicans started investigations that involved 12 Federal agencies and 9 outside agencies issued 17 subpoenas that we fully complied with listened to testimony from 800 witnesses including Hilary Clinton herself who answered questions for 11 hours without pleading the 5th once. That was in just one year and there were others with many other investigations. The only two things they found were that Bill Clinton likes to get a blow job and Hilary Clinton, however capable she might be, is an exceptionally boring politician.

So let's have Trump on the stand for 11 hours and if he is able to answer every question and not have to take the 5th once. If that happens and he doesn't incriminate himself I will be far more gracious than you and concede that Trump is not as dishonest as he has been painted.

Ahh right

How long did it take you to come up with that gem?

You've set the goalpost. But I'm guessing you want to move them right about now.

Let's see Trump answering questions about an attack on an American government facility, where Americans were killed in a civil disturbance - in fact the parallels between issues raised in relation to Benghazi and the Jan 6 Insurrection are strikingly similar - except Republicans set up over two dozen investigations into the former and don't want to have any investigations of the latter.
