I don't do Reddit and rarely engage in politics threads so I can't comment. Much of what I hear on this thread is right-wingers claiming that AVF treats them harshly and favours left-wingers. Boo-hoo.

Something being contentious means it's likely to cause disagreement or argument and those claims certainly meet that criteria. If I were to say that Trump is an utter moron and the worst POTUS in history then you would no doubt consider that to be contentious.

Fantastic post by Oswald in the Covid thread, replying to a poster asking if it's okay to discuss the Wuhan lab leak theory. "It's against the received wisdom of these forums. There are a number of other topics which will result in a similar experience, e.g. try saying in the respective threads that Elon Musk is a smart guy, that Trump wasn't that bad as president, or that our NHS isn't perfect and await the pile-on!". Despite Oswald being absolutely correct, it wouldn't surprise me if a mod removes it and/or him.

Not sure what LastofUs did wrong, other than having a different opinion. I noticed Remy Eden spouting more of her usual bigoted crap recently on the Donald Trump thread. She is talking about the U.S. becoming a dictatorship if Trump wins, the Dow Jones going into free fall and world markets collapsing! I get that she doesn't like Trump, but her post was total nonsense.

I spend max 15 minutes a day scrolling through and if there's something worthy of commemt, I'll do a post, maybe 3 or 4 a week (or about 30 minutes output for you)

The vast majority of my week is taken up running a profitable business and paying something called tax (ever heard of it ?)

The migrant thread is a fine example of the gutter moderation.

Warnings from IG are levelled at both participants in the perceived squabble, where really only Inkinoo is at fault for not being able to properly engage in sensible debate.

Then further on, Nordic is being warned for moderating......something the usual sad crew love to do everywhere...see for example richp007 with his "you're a new member" trope".
