As a T2 there is no way you can just breeze through life eating what he eats and chucking all that beer down his throat. I've seen no actual evidence that he's ever attempted to control his diabetes.
If I'm right he'll be losing friends outside of the internet too.
T2 is a serious disease that takes you out one limb at a time one organ at a time.

I don't wish him any harm, he's obviously going through something.

He's a bit more contrary of late, possibly for the reasons you've given and maybe a bit of trying to rev things up a bit on a quiet forum.

He does start and get involved in less contentious discussion too though, we need it.
