A nightmare on his way to the airport, his travel moneycard didn't work apparently because he used it more than twice at an atm and blocked for 24 hour, although pleny of money in the account. Anyway he was stuck at a station trying to get to airport , no money and last train already gone, police came to help him out and drove him to a taxi with a card reader which should have worked. Arrived at airport and card failed again, no one spoke english, police and airport staff there etc Airport staff said he would probably miss his flight
Luckily we have a friend here who is japanese and managed to translate took ages to sort out paying the taxi as they have very different system there. He's home now and a roast dinner and now out with his mates
Dread to think what my phone bill is , but anyway he had a good time apart from that last night. "worst night of his life" .A bit of a learning experience for him .I hurt my knee in the panic trying to get translator japanese womans house and could hardly walk yesterday but much better today. What a nightmare it was, and now he's thinking about his next trip
Well hes back to work soon and college course.
Anyway he got a ride in a japanese police car, his mates wished him a good journey home and were a bit aghast when he said he was in a police car. All in all turned out O.K but I think he might be a traumatised as he thought he might be arrested or whatever else you might think traveling alone in a foreign country with no access to money
But we wont be using Caxtons travel card again.
