Ironically, in another example of the "not arsed" option, the nurse who I spoke to about collecting up the planters and delivering to the old folks home where she works hasn't even bothered to get back to me about it.

I've noticed that some of the planters left lying around in different places have had rubbish dumped into them and it's then been removed again so it looks like people are prepared to take on a bit of extra responsibility for the sake of doing a "nice thing".

Next thing, I suppose, will be whether they get brought indoors during winter or whether they'll just die outside.

Carer or nurse to patient ratio in a home is something like 1:6 people. There isn't time for planting flowers in a basic home. Unless you are paying upwards of £1000 a week where the ratio can be bought down to 1:3 or 1:4. You've no chance. Let's plant flowers or clean up mrs I who has soiled herself. No contest.

Just collect the pots, especially if they have already been vandalised, it just gives the message that the area is unkept and people can vandalise more.

Ha...thanks, Az, that's kind :wink: Pain in the ass it may be, but 'gentle' is about the best it can get for a while. Have to miss out on a fantastic music night at the beach tonight, but have arranged for some bottles of shampoo to be on the tables for the folks who have stuck to me like superglue throughout this whole shebang.

Hopefully, my two furry tarts can come home next week, and normal service will be resumed :canny:
