If all well saying she should have done this and done that but what kind of person would manhandle a woman who was 7 months pregnant over a frigging speeding ticket... oh right, a cop would

I'm a libertarian, not an anarchist. What kind of woman forces the cops to arrest her when she is pregnant? Should the cop have broken the law and lost his job, because she wanted to act like an idiot? She had to go to jail. That is not an option. You can't seem to grasp that she forced the cops to arrest her. She did not give them a legal option not to.

If you don't sign a ticket, it's case dismissed. What would happen if no one signed tickets?

This woman was an idiot for acting this way in front of her child. She forced the cops to arrest her, in front of her child. Taser or not, it was going to be a physical confrontation to get her out of that car. No need to act like that in front of her kid.

Cops could have handled it completely fucking differently... y'know with a bit more sense, she was 7 months pregnant, would you manhandle someone in that condition? for what? a speeding ticket. Couldnt they have just taken her detail and mailed a summons? What if she had lost the kid (thankfully she didnt) because of the way they tasered the shit out of her, before dragging her about? would she have deserved to have her child 'miscarriaged by cop' in your eyes (like the woman who was kicked in stomach by a cop when 9 months pregnant nearly did**)

The case involves Malaika Brooks, who was seven months pregnant and driving her 11-year-old son to school in Seattle when she was pulled over for speeding. The police say she was going 32 miles per hour in a school zone; the speed limit was 20.

Ms. Brooks said she would accept a ticket but drew the line at signing it, which state law required at the time. Ms. Brooks thought, wrongly, that signing was an acknowledgment of guilt.

Refusing to sign was a crime, and the two officers on the scene summoned a sergeant, who instructed them to arrest Ms. Brooks. She would not get out of her car.

The situation plainly called for bold action, and Officer Juan M. Ornelas met the challenge by brandishing a Taser and asking Ms. Brooks if she knew what it was.

She did not, but she told Officer Ornelas what she did know. “I have to go to the bathroom,” she said. “I am pregnant. I’m less than 60 days from having my baby.”

The three men assessed the situation and conferred. “Well, don’t do it in her stomach,” one said. “Do it in her thigh.”

Officer Ornelas twisted Ms. Brooks’s arm behind her back. A colleague, Officer Donald M. Jones, applied the Taser to Ms. Brooks’s left thigh, causing her to cry out and honk the car’s horn. A half-minute later, Officer Jones applied the Taser again, now to Ms. Brooks’s left arm. He waited six seconds before pressing it into her neck.

Ms. Brooks fell over, and the officers dragged her into the street, laying her face down and cuffing her hands behind her back

Danielle Maudsley had been taken to a Florida Highway Patrol Station after being arrested for a suspected hit-and-run in September. Handcuffed, she ran out of the door.

But as footage from a police cruiser dashboard camera reveals, Trooper Daniel Cole, who this week was cleared of any wrongdoing, fired a Taser's electric probes into her back.

She spun, fell backwards and hit her head on the ground. Bleeding and crying she tried to get up. She then blacked out and has remained unconscious ever since.

Doctors say Danielle, who was found to have cocaine and oxycodone in her system at the time, is unlikely to ever wake up.

Her mother Cheryl has slammed the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and Florida Department of Law Enforcement for its reports that both cleared Cole.

She was handcuffed and within reaching distance of the Cop... he decided to just taser her instead. Now she is brain damaged and may never awake.

Don't run. They will taze you, tackle you or smack you with their baton. Any of those actions can mess you up. Pepper spray in the face is not real pleasant either. Neither are the numb fingers for two weeks when they put the cuffs on as tight as they can.

A police officer from DeKalb County is in hot water for the third time in 7 months. He is now in trouble for kicking a pregnant woman in the stomach.
WSBTV reports that Officer Jerad Wheeler is being investigated after kicking Raven Dozier in the stomach when she was almost 9 months pregnant.
The news service states that no charges have been filed against Wheeler for kicking Dozier in the stomach when he responded to a call involving a child custody issue.

One of the other incidents involving him included twisting the arm of a 53 yr old woman before slamming her onto a Police car.

Hernandez was taken to the hospital and never charged. Following an investigation by the Riverside County Sherriff's office, a grand jury indicted Clark on four felony charges: Assault under color of authority, assault with a less lethal weapon, use of force causing severe bodily injury, and assault with force likely to cause severe bodily injury. Free on $50,000 bail, Clark faces up to 20 years in prison. At present, the officer -- who is chairman of the local police union -- was placed on administrative leave, which is to say that he was given a paid vacation.

Cops don't do real well in prison. Hope he enjoys his stay.

On the other hand, one must remember it is much better to do what they say, and then see them in court. I learned that the hard way.

Anyone who had undergone rudimentary training with the JPX would understand that the weapon should not be fired directly into the head or face of a non-violent suspect. Clark's actions suggest that his intention was not to gain "compliance," but rather to inflict summary street punishment for "contempt of cop."

Pretty much sums it up.
