Let's get it straight. Biden abandoned them along with over 100 American citizens of Afghani decent.

Late on Friday, heavily armed Taliban fighters driving captured Humvees were patrolling the streets of Nimroz, one of the country’s main financial hubs, where Taliban commanders declared an overnight curfew.

Did they now, I thought the afghan army buggered off and allowed the Talibant to roll up a day later,( I might add) and just took over. But what does that matter when Biden got the US army to leave every thing behind and get the F...ck out of there. Biden the idiot gave it all to the enemy. Saigon (Vietnaam) all over again. What a sh..t house Biden and his crew are turning out to be. Roll on Trumpy.

There's not much point any country or group intervening - another country or group will just intervene on the other side. This is what happens all the time in that whole area so that nobody ever "wins".

The Taliban did say they would wait it out.
We couldn't be there forever and they knew it.
The only solution is maybe a bit radical.
Special forces from as many countries as possible go in and gouge the eyes out cut the ears off and hang from trees all the bastards who wish to abuse and deny women or want to turn the juke box off.
The only MECCA allowed is bingo halls and dance halls and cinemas.
Millions of paintings of the prophet should be dropped daily.
Build a big fuck off imports centre and ship in billions of Chinese made mini skirts dildos plastic toys rock n roll CD's lipstick by the truck load tellys by the millions chocolate by the tons. Open bars run by the SAS and protected by the mafia.
Kill them with bullets knives fire and poison whatever it takes till it becomes extremely frightening to even think of wanting to be Taliban.
Or we could do it the American way and ship Americans in by the millions with covered wagons. Let them claim land for free and they can dig out the minerals to make a living so long as they wipe out the natives.

Sadly Afghanistan is mission impossible , Queen Victorias army could not solve the problem and we have learnt our present day troops cannot solve it .
Its tragic that so many of our troops lives have been lost trying to sort the mess out .

The Taliban have already taken over half the Country already
The United Nations send out Provisions and medical aid it just ends up in the hands of the Taliban :dunno:

I think we all know what will happen to women and girls once the Taliban will take over again. No more education, all schools will close for females, no more freedom of leaving their houses without a male relative, no more music, dancing, TV, movies, sport, fun, and it will be back to full burka, women will get beaten and killed again. :shake head:

I really don't know what can be done to help in that area. Any interference is just met by resistance and violence. As soon as one nasty group sods off, another one arrives. We've been here before with the Taliban, and they've come back again.

America, and other countries, we in there for 20 years.

To play the devil's advocate:

Looking back at the history of Afghanistan it has been fought over and abandoned by various empires since about 1750, before that it used to be a part of Iran. In large part the problems today are down to a proxy between the Sunni and the Shia in the region and getting in between them doesn't seem to have helped. Maybe it's time to let the Iranians (shia) and Saudi Arabians (sunni) deal with their problems on their own.

The west was only ever interested in the region for the oil and if we focus the resources we put into the wars there into growing renewable energy we and they could be much better off.

The Taliban has captured an Afghan provincial capital after pleas for reinforcements by local security forces went unheard, in a major blow to the western-backed government.
